I've used GNUPlot and played around with Maxima... Maxima is pretty cool
.. it sort of reminds me of a cmdline/script version of mathcad with a touch
of matlab but I never really mastered Maxima. I've not really used
either maxima or gnuplot in a while as I've not needed to manipulate
any equations or plot anything ... and I have an HP-49gx (and 48gx) that'll
do some of those sorts of things as well. I've used PIL to embed generate
on demand graphics for analysis when I was on a Tufte graphics kick.
You mentioned it...now I have to ask.... What kinds of numbers are you
crunching and plotting?
