[brlug-general] Can't boot computer?

I had a CPU fan die once, bringing the CPU with it, and that's just how
it acted. Testing the CPU would be a difficult thing without a similar
machine/socket/cpu/chipset handy, so I'm not sure what to tell you. It
was probably time for them to upgrade anyway ;)
