"I turned it off on the 770, because inevitably, I would type something like 'to,' and press a space, and I would end up with 'tomorrow' or something similar."
It doesn't work like that on N800. As you type, the spacebar shrinks to the right and it shows you the remaining endings of 4 words on the left of the spacebar. Click on the ending you want and it fills it out. Plus you can draw a line on the keyboard to the right for 'space', left for backspace, down for enter, up for the 'shift' of whatever letter you draw it on. Neat stuff!
Oh! And it detects a stylus press or a finger press on a text entry box. If you use your finger, you get a fullscreen keyboard to finger type.

Thread hijack!!
The N800 looks pretty sweet, albeit pricey. The 770 otoh, I snagged on
woot.com last week for a mere $130. I am totally digging that thing.
Back to the word completion, though, I turned it off on the 770,
because inevitably, I would type something like 'to,' and press a
space, and I would end up with 'tomorrow' or something similar.
And the Maemo site is for developers, whereas the word completion is
built in to the custom OS (which is Debian-based).
