Dang Shannon, 4AM? That's rough!
I have had my slice for about 2-3 weeks. So far so good.
The only thing i didn't realize when I set it up, was that I got the 6 month
reservation and they charged the
$20/month all up front. So I had to pay the $120 for all 6 months up front.
I didn't realize that was how
they were going to charge it. But since I got the 6 month reservation, my
slice was ready and available within
24 hours. The estimate said 1 week, but I got it much faster.
I have the 256MB version. and I dig it. No complaints really. It's dedicated
ram, but I think you're sharing
the Quad CPU's with whoever else is on the box.
model name : Dual Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 270
cpu MHz : 1994.995
It's fast enough for what i'll use it for, mostly development and hosting my
small footprint web site.
The think I like the most is I get and entire OS to myself. I can ssh to it
and install any and all applications I want.
I have root access and no one else does. You don't actually share the host
with anyone. So i like it much better than
any of those shared hosting type solutions.
