I have been using Dell Dimension 520N linux pre-installed desktop for
about couple of weeks now.
Config:
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6420 (2.13GHZ,1066FSB) with 4MB cache
2GB DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
256MB nVidia GeForce 7300LE TurboCache
320GB Serial ATA 2 Hard Drive (7200RPM)
Dell 13 in 1 Media Card Reader
16X DVD-ROM and 16X DVD+/-RW
Integrated audio and NIC card
No Monitor
cost:710(With Tax)
I think (I am not sure though) a similar windows desktop
The only thing that I had to do was to configure xserver to run at
1680x1050 resolution. I was a little surprised that Dell did not
"enhance" the desktop with their crapware. Not even a wallpaper. I
would have liked to have a firewire port but I am not sure how good
firewire is supported in linux. Expect to pay Dell if you need support
from Dell.

Did anybody else buy a Dell with pre-installed Linux?
