For what it's worth I'll make this comment...
Telcove (before they became Level 3) had some of the best bandwidth and customer support I've seen from a "major" provider in a long, long time. I worked with them up until about a year ago when I left my previous employer and for two years I never had a single issue, no outages, no problems. I had two feeds off of the local oc loop, worked directly with engineers to get swip'd IP space and BGP routing (with some nice communities) running. The Telcove NOC would even call me and alert me (no matter what time) if something even had the potential of causing an interruption for me.

It's possible to get FTTB from Telcove or Cox, FWIW. Also Broadband IP
is out there.
