Some people don't like top posting.  Most clients are smart enough to do 
"threads", so top posting isn't too much of an issue.  I use pine, which 
is dumb and doesn't do threads.  I'm easy though, so top-posting doesn't 
bother me.  Most times dumb and easy are a good combination.
