[brlug-general] Recommendations for DNS and website hosting provider?

Hello,
I always recommend hostmysite.com. They are not the cheapest and have the most 
for your money in terms of resources but they have excellent service. In the 
past they have installed software for me. I am willing to bet if anyone calls 
them now, a human will pick up the phone. For anyone who cares, they not only 
have Linux but also Microsoft support. This guys allow ssh access which I 
find invaluable.

About 90% of the clients I have ever have signed up with them and still use 
them. Everyone loves them probably because of the rare exceptional customer 
support, if I cannot take a call from one of my customers and they call them, 
it makes me look really good.

Having said that, I have no affiliation, no discounts, do not know anyone 
personally, do not even call for that matter. I am not sure I have evern 
gotten a discount or that they even know how many people I refer to them. 

I used them once last year and I had a little problem with some new DNS 
control application, Linux browser issue probably,  but someone fixed 
everything quickly when I sent them an email. They actually made the changes 
to my DNS records and php.ini file within an hour or so. Some other time a 
client called me after I was already in bed about something he had done to 
the database, called them and they restored the previous file and stayed with 
the customer until the issue was addressed. Once again, they made me look 
really good.
