This must be something very recent or localized since with my 7Mb line
(New Orleans) I get often full speed downloads. (Naturally this depends
on the sources.) Occasionally I get sustained speeds between 10-15 Mb
(~1300kbps) downloads. (I wish this would happen more often....)
We'll see how fast I get Torchwood from UK tomorrow..... :-)
Uplink has always been pathetically slow... I wish it would be faster....
limiting paying customers is naturally wrong, but do corporations
care..... of course not.... Only corporations have freedom. On another
note, I think the traffic shaping efforts should be directed to spam and
viruses instead of something useful such as P2P protocols. More and more
P2P protocols are used for legit file transfers, and naturally that
suffers as well. I'm not sure, but I think entities like Joost and alike
are using P2P protocols with their feeds.
