Hey everyone. I know I haven't been active in a while (but I still
read). I am still here in Lafayette, as the Chair of the student ACM
(the Alpha Chapter). We have decided to start a weekly Linux Workshop
at the University, and of course, it's open to the public. If you know
anyone thats interested, let them know. If you are actually in, or will
be in Lafayette for any of these times, and are interested in either
participating, or helping, let me know. I would greatly appreciate any
feedback that this community could give me.
Starting Friday, October 20, the Alpha Chapter of the ACM will be
offering a workshop on Linux administration. The workshop will cover
basic Linux usage for beginners, and progress through advanced server
administration. The classes will be offered every week for 4 weeks,
ending Saturday, November 11th.
The classes are offered free of charge, and will last 2-3 hours for each
day. There are only 30 seats available per clas, so please register now.
There will be additional classes if there is enough interest, so no one
will be left out. Classes will be held in the WANT lab in the Conference
Center at the University (signs will be posted). There will be computers
available for use, but attendees are still encouraged to bring their own
computers.
Register at http://acmalphachapter.org/linux
Thank You,
Mat Branyon
Chair, ACM Alpha Chapter
