Ron, 

Since you downloaded the file as root,  "bozo" probably doesn't own or have 
permission to run the executable. Open the file manager, navigate to the 
folder that firefox is installed in, right click on the folder, select 
properties, permissions, and set the ownership of the folder to "bozo" and 
check the box that says "apply ownership to this and all sub folders" and 
make sure that the owner can execute the file as well.
