Nick/Ed -

Let's start over!

I download Firefox 1.5.0.5 from the Xandros Repository. It installs

/etc/firefox
/usr/bin/firefox (with the share symbol under the folder)
/usr/lib/firefox
/usr/lib/firefox/firefox
/usr/lib/menu/firefox
/usr/lib/mime/packages/firefox
/usr/share/firefox
/usr/share/bug/firefox
/user/share/doc/firefox

All users can run this.

What are the steps to update Firefox to the latest version (Now 2.0) at
http://mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/? I have downloaded firefox-2.0.tar.gz to
the desktop of the root user. I could not get the chmod 755
/usr/bin/firefox to do anything.

If the executable is /usr/bin/firefox, running the following as root
should set it up to be executable by all users:

chmod 755 /usr/bin/firefox

It really isn't that difficult, just sometimes we lack the information to
know what you need.
