Greetings all,

The next CCCC Linux SIG - BRLUG Newbies workshop will be Monday, October 1st at 6 PM in the computer lab. This workshop will investigate the functions and features of the Linux file managers in general and the Xandros File Manager in particular, including, in addition to convential file manager functions, burning CD's and DVD's, web browsing, network browsing, installing Debian software packages, ripping audio CD's, and a number of other features. We will also look as customizing and extending the functionality of the FireFox web browser including tabbed browsing, session saver, playing flash and streaming video and audio, and a number of other features.

If you have a laptop with wireless connectivity, bring it with you to free up one of the lab computers for others to use as we had a standing room only crowd at the last workshop.

Lastly, if you have specific topics that you would like for us to cover in upcoming workshops, please post them to this list and we will try and address them for you. There were a number of good topics that were brought up that the last workshop, but in "the heat of battle" I tend to not remember them all that well.

We look forward to seeing everyone Monday nite,

Ed
