[brlug-newbies] OT: Never mind, Uhhhhhh!

Earlier, I sent an OT message about being able to use WIN XP HOME for a Sony computer on my machine.  Well, I had not opened the package at that point.

Later, much to my disgust, I found theXP HOME package to have a large, thick, piece of cardboard,
where a CD *should* have been.  It BEST BUY sells you a computer with XP on it, aren't they 
*supposed* to give you the software they used to put on it..licensing??

Any way, the CD is not there (clever ploy), just instructions on "how to".  Now, I will be 'forced' to
once again, "pay homage to the Evil Troll King of Redmond, WA." in purchasing an out-of-date,
software, so my grandson can finish this magnet school schoolwork.  Ugggggggggg!

Suggestion:  I know it's the BRLUG's mission to get all the State Library's to switch to using
Linux, to save the State money and grief.  How about 'modifying' the mission to include all 64 of 
the parishes school systems, from North to South, East to West.  A total change over of every
state supported and parish school system?
