Greetings all,
Sorry for not getting this up sooner, but I have been extremely busy. In the
next SIG workshop, I will demonstrate VirtualBox, a free virtualization
software package that runs on Linux, Windows and Mac OS X. I will also
demonstrate some of the neat things that one can do with Compiz_Fusion, the
project that brings all of the "eye candy" to the Linux desktop.
Also, I would like to get some feedback from the membership regarding our
presentation that we will be making at the February general membership
meeting. Finally, I would like to get some feedback as to what your vision
for the future for the Linux Desktop SIG is. The SIG now has several voices
on the club Board of Directors and the more that we know about what you want
to SIG to be and to become, the better we can provide input to the board.
Please give this some serious thought.
If you have, or are putting together, a workshop, please let us know. We need
to get some more workshops and facilitators going. With me now being on the
Board of Directors and writing a monthly column for the newsletter, my
discretionary time is getting less and less and I need all of the help that I
can get.
I look forward to seeing everyone Monday evening.
Ed
