Greetings all,

The next workshop of the Linux Desktop SIG will be Monday, March 3rd at 6 PM
in the Linux Lab. In this workshop we are going take another look at the
Linux files structure. One of the SIG members wanted to learn a bit more
about that so bring your thumb drives, USB hard drives, etc and we will play
around with how Linux mounts drives and partitions and how permissions work.
If we have time, we will also play around with Compiz-Fusion, the program
that creates all of the eye candy on Linux. Now that we have the machines
from the Windows Lab, we have 12 to 14 machines that can support the eye
candy. Everything will be hands on and if you want to play with the eye
candy, get there early and grab one of the black Dell computers or the two
machines in the middle of the back row.

Also, remember that Ron and Cal are starting a series of basic Linux workshops
is coming Saturday morning at 9:30 AM. I will be there and I hope that you
will too.

Ed
