Folks,
I am loving this thread! This is exactly the kind of stuff that I hoped would
develop out of the Linux SIG in particular and the club in general. How about
for the next workshop, we do this firewire install, see if we can get the
proper drivers loaded (they may load automagically) and then do whatever web
research may be required to make it all happen. I recommend that we install
the firewire adapter in the instructor machine. I have it full configured
with PCLinuxOS and Xandros and a HUGE number of multimedia programs are
already installed on PCLinuxOS. Additionally, since I have been, and will
continue to be for the next several weeks, very busy putting together our
presentation for the general membership meeting, I would like to also use the
upcoming workshop to get Xandros and PCLinuxOS installed on the remaining 8
machines that we were given from the Windows lab. We now have 10 Pentium III,
1.7 Gig machines, with at 512 meg of ram added to the Linux lab along with
new tables. The lab is starting to look really nice and very professional.
